Evil
lurks in Ethiopia under the name of opposition.

Ethiopia
is being attacked through the evil collusion of internal and
external enemies under the sponsorship of the brutal
Eritrean dictator. It
is time for all Ethiopians to consolidate and build their
well-known unity in the face of adversity. Despite all this,
according to a statement by IMF Ethiopia's economic
performance during the last three years nevertheless "has
been good." The recently ended fiscal year showed economic
growth, while price stability had been maintained and progress had
been made with key structural reforms. In the 2005/6 fiscal years,
Ethiopia recorded a real GDP growth of close to 8-10 percent. The
IMF’s World Economic Outlook (WEO) database puts
Ethiopia’s Gross Domestic Product at 1.6% for 2002, - 4.5% for
2003, 11.5% for 2004 and 7.3% for 2005, thus resulting in an
average 4.68% GDP (By Eskinder Michael). Under
the leadership of EPRDF Ethiopia has made tremendous strides
towards democracy and economic development. “Under-five
mortality rates in Ethiopia
have steadily
declined to 123 out of every 1,000 live births. This is down
from peak levels in 1990 when 204 out of every 1,000 children died
before the age of five.
It
is quite shameful for those disgruntled individuals who crown themselves as opposition parties
in a scheme to defraud, blackmail, and force the people of
Ethiopia to permanent poverty and ignorance. It is sad to see
these people exploit over and over the election dispute as a
smoke-screen to further their destructive anti poverty and
development propaganda campaign. The hypocrisy that the hate
mongers tend to create havoc and hatred is a sickening drama.
Financed and sponsored by Issayas Afewerki and some well-to-do
Diaspora elements, they are being used as foot soldiers for the
destruction of Ethiopia.
Ethiopians
have suffered enough by these agents under the pretext of
opposition. What is ironic is the fact that they lobby against the
poor; though they shout at the same time that Ethiopia cannot feed
itself under the incumbent government. However, all the campaign
of distortion to get facts on the grounds has left them naked in
the eyes of many concerned Ethiopians and foreigners.
Despite
their propaganda terror and lies, the economic performance of the
country is registering at a two-figure rate, has stable currency,
infrastructure has been laid, safety nets and protection against
disease are massively given, child mortality rate is declining
(UNESCO). Our defense forces are not only capable of defending but
they have the power to strike anywhere if the Ethiopian security
and peace is threatened. Our enemies under the banner of
opposition are trying hard to take us in abyss to the dark days.
We need an opposition which could do better than EPRDF but none of
them are even close to take responsibility of their own actions
let alone to lead the 70 million souls.
Colin
Powell in Promoting Better Leadership and Management in the Public
Service said, “Being
responsible sometimes means pissing people off. Good
leadership involves responsibility to the welfare of the group,
which means that some people will get angry at your actions and
decisions. It's inevitable if you're honorable. Trying to get
everyone to like you is a sign of mediocrity: You'll avoid the
tough decisions, you'll avoid confronting the people who need to
be confronted, and you'll avoid offering differential rewards
based on differential performance because some people might get
upset.”
EPRDF
main responsibility is to the welfare of the Ethiopian people, not
for few handfuls with questionable past. Any attempt to throw and
undermine a legitimate government will be dealt accordingly and
dissuasively. What is amazing is that when Hailu Shawl attended a
meeting in Seattle he made a statement by stating that “It takes
only few hundreds of Ethiopian deaths to grab power” What is sad
is that no one condemned him for uttering such filthy idea. People
like him under the guise opposition pushed innocent lives to
death. It is now clear individuals such as Negede Gobeze and Kassa
Kebede, (extension Kinijit), those are criminals with blood on
their hands behind to undermine the democratic process that is
taking place in our country. EPRDF is not in a business to please
those individuals; they are in a business of leading a nation and
uplifting the hopes and dreams of 70 million lives.
